Local Strategies

Local strategies should take into consideration the needs and desires of the local community that is being served. In a global environment where it can be difficult to define a separation between a local community and a global community it is often easy to overlook the needs of the local community in favor of the desires of the global community. In an Internet environment, we tend to focus on the global community because the Internet is ideally suited for global communications, however, the Internet can be just as valuable to a local community’s needs. In focusing on the needs of the local community, we are trying to create an environment where we can communicate globally and yet, be able to address some very local needs.

Global Strategies

When a local community is developing their strategies that are most likely based on local needs, it is also important that they consider some global strategies in their planning. In this age of instant communication and an ever-shrinking world, local strategies can have an impact in a global environment. Many times, a solution to a global problem is not dependent on a global solution, but rather on a replicable application of many local solutions. It is always important to be able to access information on a global scale to find possible solutions to local problems that have been successfully applied in other regions. This ability to access this kind of information can have a profound effect in solving problems quickly and more effectively, especially when those solutions may already be available.
